Going to be nice and smooth, huh?

    Right on the edge here.
    Was 31 earlier, 34 now.
    Hopefully not too much ice.
Trees are all already weighed down with LOTS of snow.

We had rain but the surface temps of everything were so low from the last week it froze on contact. Main roads weren't bad. Could have played hockey on my driveway.

I can’t walk to work if it’s icy. I might fall and get hurt.

I live 2.2 miles from work. But there's a river between us.

Takes a half hour some days, depending on traffic because there are few bridges. I live in a bad neighborhood and work in a good neighborhood. They don't want to make it any easier to get there. I'm the riff raff.

You need a snowcat. I saw one in a documentary about off-season hotels during the winter.

My commute is about 18 miles each way.
WAY better than the 60 each way I used to do.
Bad weather reminds me how awful that trip used to be.

I see what you are saying. Growing up, my friend's dad had a great setup with a furniture repair shop randomly on a rural residential street and they lived in the house next door. Almost like a farm with a barn and a house. But it was a nice sized block building. Super convenient. Lunch at home. Etc.

On the other hand, I'll bet there are days when you wish you could escape the shop. That could be too close for comfort some days. You couldn't even hide from the Snap On guy.
