Lost a stator Friday night, luckily it was on a road. Drug it home, fixed by Sunday. Sunday night roasted a piston and ruined the jug, fixed last night. Spent most of today figuring out a carburetion issue, fixed tonight. I got about two hours of riding in and so far all seems well.

I was starting to think that ZRT stood for Zero Riding Tonight.

Same around here. I'm heading up to Grayling, MI in an hour or so. The big storm that hit Chicago this week barely gave them 4 inches...expecting a bit of ice and snirt....but hey...we're riding!

after 15 years of sledding I sold my last one 2 years ago, got tired of having to chase snow, and here in Michigan its been pretty crappy for quite a while (last year being the exception, I was bumming about selling last winter). I figure if I really get the itch I can rent one or borrow one pretty easy. I really want to do some mountain riding next.

In my opinion the snow has been pretty good for the last 3-4 years with this year been the expection. I think you could ride almost any weekend this year but the conditions aren't the best!

Where are you going? Riding out west or off-trail is a whole different animal than trail riding. Either way, you WILL have fun...and chances are you won't believe the acceleration the first time you grab a handful!

BTW...TAKE YOUR TIME when learning how to to it! Lot's of horsepower to play with...and frozen trees don't bend.

out west...Colorado up around rabbit ears pass which is close to steam boat if you know where that is. I'll be on a arctic cat. I think its a 900 so I'm sure it'll be a hand full at first for a rookie.

A 900 Cat is a LOT of power. Just remember, you dont need all the throttle all the time. Theese things will kill you with the simple flick of the thumb if you dont respect them. Have fun, be safe.

thanks for the info guys...I do know what 900cc's on the road feels like when you gun it so I'm sure its every bit of that x2 on the snow. I will take it easy and respect the power....I learned the hard way at a young age and have never forgotten it. I'm really looking forward to this trip!!!!
