Palmetto State Armory has AR15 lowers for like 150, and uppers without BCG and CH for less than 200. If any of you mooks wants to build yourself an AR for Christmas, I will send you a BCG and CH. My treat. But just the regular mooks. No new mooks.

Yesterday there was a fruit fly in the front office. I think the guy in the Subaru brought it in with him.

I was looking around seeing what is available to build an A2 clone, and I found a 16" Dissipator complete barreled upper for $179. I want to see just how soft shooting they are.
(Dissy explained to our non-black rifle associates: The AR rifle, as invented by Stoner, was a 20" barrel and a rifle length/gas pressure. Back in the 'Nam, guys started seeing the value of a cut-down 20" AR. (To 16) But nobody had perfected all the different gas systems and barrel lengths we have now. Now, the gas block WAS the A2 front sight. So, cut down the 20 to 16 and instant carbine, right? No. It changed the dwell time to almost nothing. (The length of time the bullet is a plug. Think short.) Modern carbines bring the front sight back to the carbine gas port location. Sixties-era users had no fancy modern gas blocks. So the dissipator moved the gas tube back but kept the A2 front sight out at rifle length. They are recognized by their long handguards and the appearance of only about an inch of barrel protruding beyond the front sight. They are accurate because of the rifle-length sight system, but lighter like a carbine, and they are said to be the lowest recoiling of the AR designs. The long front handguard is nice for a long arm-ed fella like myself.) I have no intention of putting an optic on this, because that would defeat the whole ****ing purpose. That's why you see many dissipators that mimick the A2, and have a carry handle rear sight.
Thanks for watching fund's guns. Next week: The battle of Stalingrad: The Mosin 91/30 vs. The Mauser K98.
