I have a two-stroke Johnson, two different props. I did not raise the X dimension on this Whaler. On the previous 13s and 15s I had usually had a 2" piece of wood under the (on the transom) outboard to raise the X-dimension.

I do not experience any chine walking at 41 mph, I trim the boat way-out, watch my tach, watch my speedometer, and drive it like a Hydrostream. Get your Whaler dialed-in.

Bought mine from a super anal whaler nut. He re-rigged it like it was a brand new boat. New Mills bimini top, new trailer, new cushions (in anniversary Whaler material), underseat neon lights right down to a new Optima battery. He liked the Yamaha 60 but it is bigger/heavier than a 70hp/ 2 stroke so he didn't go crazy with the x dimension but it is up a couple of holes from the lowest setting. My 41 was on a handheld GPS and it was trimmed high at 5500 rpm. I can run 38-39 no trouble but at 40-41 it can chine wildly if the water is sloppy.

He was going 110 and wanted to see what it would do in R....he thought it meant "Race". Got a couple more out of it before it blew.
