    I bought a 42 inch VXT model 9 months ago. It was a "referbished" unit from tigerdirect and to date I am very pleased.

    are the newer plasmas much better then ones from two years ago? do they not burn like the older ones?

    ok i got my dad a 42'' LG plasma 600hz 720p model #pq30 and he loves it. hhgregg has this set for 499 and i got one today it has a simple remote and i was able to program his big remote to the tv just like Billr said thanks Bill this made my dad very happy

    yes it has to do with the refresh rate of the set hell i don't no ask BillR. i just know the cheaper LCD's are 60 hz then 120hz and now 240hz but the plasma i got is 600hz

    dito, no major networks are broadcasting in 1080p as of yet 1080i is interlaced 1080p is progressive so is 720p
