I got my new 29" Cutting Edge Props today. Maybe I can sneak out tomorrow if the wind doesn't change to much.
If they only need tweeked a little bit, Dan could try a little foot magic before I send them back to Cali?

90 hours! Holy geez, I thought you'd be pulling them in a few weeks for a freshen up? I suppose you can just pour some of the engine restore or stop smoke they sell at trak auto in, and go another couple seasons. I think sonic Todd might have some for you. It's in his boat next to the bottles of marvel mystery oil and octane booster...or maybe that's ky jelley and vodka, I forget.
BTW, how are my friends from marina shores with the small cruiser doing? Had a good time hanging out with them in Michigan city. Say hello for me

I make it a regular habit of smelling my dipstick while checking the oil. Fuel dilution is no good for bearings, lifters, etc. As for the oil turning black right away, it can be a sign of worn piston rings. Piston rings/cylinder walls wear out faster if the engine is overly rich. Excesse Fuel washes the oil off the cylinder walls, accelerating wear.
I am pretty sure the 502 mags were notorious for consuming oil, even when new. Mike fountain or Dennis baja might be able to confirm this. That could be why your oil turns black faster. Your 600sc was a 502, but different pistons.
