First yr. we moved into this house I did a basic lights outside job, but nice.
Next yr. we just had the tree.
Following yr. she just put the tree up.
Last yr. nothing. I wasn't going to put anything up, and having a 30# "puppy" running around that had already eaten remotes, beer cans, the carpet...
This yr. I'm not touching it. If she wants the tree up, she can get to work on it.
All seems like a lot of work to only create yourself additional work in a few weeks taking all that crap down."Keep the bottle on the bar Ira, I won't be long".

My old lady did all the lights, and the TWO trees. She has tried for the last couple of years to get me to do it and finally gave up. I don't believe in decorating for holidays. I have enough sh!t to do without adding work for no reason. BA HUMBUG!!
I put outlets in soffits of most of the houses I built, one of the most commonly requested options.

Hell, I pretty much forgot all about seting up the tree this year. Guess I've gotta drag it all out. My freekin' GF better help this year! I've done most of it over the three plus years we have been together. Time to pass the torch.

12-04-2008 08:03 PMMy electric bill triples for the month of December. And we're tough on an electric meter to start with.
All our outside bulbs are those old-school giant one's.
And yeah- two trees. Lights around archways, lights in wreaths. The Mrs. and the kids are WAY into Christmas.

I love to put up lights and a tree. It's the only way to make a festive holiday when it's 80 degrees.
Last years house. This years house. Got more to do to the trees and lawn on the new house.Treat every situation like a dog, if you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away.
