Whoever thinks slow, single engine outboard, butt ugly, open cockpit boats, is a formula for success in the US, knows nothing about the US market. And if there are people out there telling Asif that is a good idea then they do not have his best interests at heart. Come the $%@%$# on people. Asif, if you are out there, call me. I will give you one free hour of the best advice you have ever received. And I am not looking for a job or to sell you anything. Good grief.

That entirely depends on who's formula you want to use. If your beach/river racing and your goal is spectators and TV... The people on the beach just want to see a bunch of colorfull boats frantically bouncing around looking like they are going to crash at any moment while making lots of splash/rooster tail, a lot of noise doesnt hurt either. People dont go to nascar races to see cars fly around Daytona at 190 mph glued to the track. They go to see cars spinning out, bumping and rubbing, sliding sideways and wrecking. if the cars were only going 100, it would make no difference as long as they were still wiping out all the time.

Maybe I am wrong, but knowing what I know based upon my actual experience, it is impossible for me to believe that there is any demand out there for a racing entertainment product involving really slow boats that might crash and kill people. Tell me of such a product any where in the world, let alone the US, that has made money because I am not aware of one.

10-12-2010 12:21 PMIn the US we have always been BIG motor ,BIG noise , Large frame , in all our motorsports .
No offense against SuperStock , but strictly outboards even 10 at a time just dont roul me up . I can hear them all right ,Just not enough Bang Pow Pop! Cant feel it bang on youre chest as they go by .
And those are Big powerfull OB,s .The SS are cool as they do fly nicely (with a good crew )
I cant even imajine the smaller ones spoken of for p-1
Just my opinion on what I like .I have no interest as a fan in that model .I doubt there are many who are .

I didnt say they needed to crash and kill people.. they just need to look like they might.. whats more interesting to watch, a 80~100 mph boat bouncing around, airborn throwing water everywhere,or a 190mph going by so smooth it looks like its on rails???

Time Bandit, Pirate Racing, Typhoon and Octane.. I would like to thank you 4 for taking the time to talk with Gary and I about the condition of the SVL class, the direction its going and to help clear up the rumors and crap you read online.
Nothing is set in stone but now we feel more comfortable in moving forward.
Thanks
