Biloxi should be a good turnout now being a OSS/SBI joint point race.

02-10-2010 05:43 PMGreat News an agreement has been made between SBI and OSS to honor the others equipment fees for the season. Entry fees will be paid to the hosting organization. Points awarded to the team with the org they are a member of.
Big step forward by both orgs

That's great news. Only thing that could of made it better is if they moved it to May 15th date which was posted originally on the SBI Schedule as TBA.
If I remember correctly, the tides were better that weekend...
Oh well..... I am sure there is a reason for it....
Congrats !!!

As an amateur photographer and a diehard offshore racing FAN, I greatly appreciate and admire your photographic works and dedication to the sport. Because of our geographic location, I have been a huge OSS fan since it's beginning. As a resident of the Gulf coast and avid fisherman, we are always constantly watching the tidal conditions of our area. Unfortunately, we have A LOT of very shallow waters in our area, especially close to the shore. Holding a race in the Mississippi Sound is dictated by these tidal conditions. Most people are not aware, that the Gulfport/Biloxi area host 2 events back to back weekends. The DSRA drag boat races, Smokin The Lake, May 14- May 16 and the Offshore races, Smokin The Sound, May 20- May 23. As you can see the May 15 date is already taken by another event. We are greatly appreciative of the efforts put forth by the local promotors to give our area 2 great boating events and hope that you will be able to attend.
