01-01-2009 08:50 AMIf you want to stay with free, I'd add AVG. Spybot and Ad-Aware are kind of redundant in what they do. AVG will better watch for viruses.
I run Norton 360 for the last year plus. Got sick of fighting McAfee. I still download Ad-Aware and AVG once a month and scan completely. You'd be surprised what is still there.

I just use the Windows firewall along with Avast free download for years. Everything works fine.

Here's a tip:
Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Security Center -> Other Security Settings
Turn off User Account Control and the pop up asking if you want to continue will stop
