Hey guys,
I have scanned a bunch of photo's from Roger Munn's photo collection.
Time to share them. If anyone has any details to add, feel free.
This stuff was way before my time.
Let's start with Billy Martin's Bounty Hunter. What model of Cigarette was it?

01-16-2009 05:12 PMThat's a Cigarette 39 Competition that later competed as the Fayva Shoes boat. it sold last year for peanuts and was repainted in the Bounty Hunter colors. It was running around Key West during Worlds week last November. We were out running with him- it ran really stong. The boat was due to be shipped to its new owner in France right after the races.

01-16-2009 05:15 PMActually that's partially wrong- the boat that went on to be Fayva was one of two bubble-deck 39's, the other being Copeland's Popeyes.

The 40 was an extended 36 Cigarette (it needed it) You could tell from a distance it had the Wale on the side at the Sheer and the other one was a streached 35 Like LongShot a 39 with a crease in the hull side.

I saw the 35 In Jersey Billy said it ran 92 MPH Not bad in those days The old 36 Cigarette did a little 1-2-3 thing @ 89 better hang on and duck.
If you look at the port side entry On a 36 at the Stem Knee they were all "sucked in" for a couple feet at the chine..

01-18-2009 06:15 PMYes, I was completely wrong. The Bounty Hunter in KW was the 39 Competition bubble-deck. The one pictured above was the 40, based on the 36. Bob Norkskog had a 39 competition flatdeck as did Craig Barrie- the Coors Silver Bullet raceboat, that's for sale on Craigslist right now.
