Holy Crap! I just saw this thread! What are you doing Bill?! Come on boating brotha...you can't do this! Heck, I just dropped all this coin for a boat that can keep up with you in the snotty water we typically run in. I don't want you on board...I want you as the wing man you have been for so many years!
On a more serious note...Bill's boat stays indoors next to mine. It is every bit as advertised. NO BS! I strive to be as anal as Bill, but he's a tough act to follow.

This is funny!!!
Someone (no one from here) made a lowball offer of $140,000.
Never seen the boat or anything. I guess he thinks I "need" to sell.
My first thought was to ignore his offer, maybe I will respond with something like - your price is $200,000.00.
Anyone got a better smart azz response to such a (IMHO) stupid offer??
BTW: I don't have to sell, I don't need to sell, and don't care if I don't sell. It is just that I am bored this winter cause there is nothing to do to the boat. I like to work on the boat doing improvements in the off season.BillR

Tell him that's a hell of a down payment and he really doesn't need to put that much down on a $180K purchase.
I like working on stuff in the off-season and have replaced the dash and some other items that really didn't need it......suggestion: go work on someone else's stuff. It gives you something to do (without spending your own money), and when you do need the help, you've got a couple guys willing (or obligated) to give you a hand when you need it another year.
