10-24-2008 01:05 AMSweet gp,I had a 69 grand prix j model I bought in Ca in 1988 for 800$ w/60,000 miles, same color/top even. Drove that car for my daily driver until 1992 when I totalled it out. I'll have to find some pics and scan them, identical car except it looks like you have the deluxe seats. Here's a funny story about it ,at the time I also had a 73 firebird street race car,it had really faded ,whited out paint job. I had just put a motor in it and was getting ready fo it to go to the body shop for a custom paint job,it had tree sap and greasy handprints almost embedded in the paint and I was getting it painted soon anyways so I took comet cleanser and washed the car so it didn't look so hideous. About 6 months later I was living back in Mi and me and a buddy of mine were driving the 69 grand prix down to Ohio near Cinci to edgewater motor sports park for a Pontiac car show and drag race. I had to work alot of hours right up to the day I was leaving,my EX wife volunteered to wash the car for me and wax it (at least I thought). I came home and she had scrubbed the car with COMET CLEANSER to get it "extra clean" ,I frickin flipped out!!!! That car HAD a nice paint job, she honestly thought that's how you cleaned a car (after having seen me do it in the ONCE in the past),Me and Old Navy spent all night before we left rubbing the car out by hand with rubbing compound,we were so tired driving down to Ohio due to lack of sleep we had to take turns driving,Smitty

Stop it Stecz.
The Grand Prix was a one family owned car. I have evrything even the cancelled check from the purchase and his mom and dads notebooks when they added gas and small repairs. I am amazed he sold it as he wasn't hurting.
To top it off it was a GM "brass hat" car that was supposed to be used for evaluation purposes. I also had a 69 and that is what drew me to it. The 70 has A/C, Am radio with factory 8 track, leather seats and much more. I actually had Ed Cozzi in it the other day picking him up after he did a survey for us.

Hi Dawn
Thanks! Just the other day I called NYSDMV to re-register the same plates. Unfortunetly due to the amount of time the car was not registered someone took Redlined away from me. Was planning to use the plates as pictured for nostalgic reasons. My pin stripper added a little flair as you can see.

Hi Craig
Glad to see you made it over here. The car is a clone that was originally a 307/powerglide model. Took me 2 years to convince the former owner to sell it. I was in my early 20's living in CA and the first car I ever painted. Imron has held up 10 fold. Once back in NY I de-stroked a 327 into a 302 to stock specs and coverted into a 4 speed with all factory parts which were mostly still available from GM. Gauges and all. Following pics was the day I pulled it out from storage. And the 8-track still works!
Do you still have the vette? Back in '85 while I was driving coast to coast I found a 63 split window sitting in a AZ truck stop for $5K. Long story short it was a done deal but was sold while I was enroute from NY to fork over the cash.
