As you all know, I have an innate ability to look at a turd and see its true potential. If I only spent two years and $60,000.
But I'm not seeing this deckboat vision. However, it is STILL a better idea than my Apache was. So I'm in.
Even though it is the Ford Town and Country station wagon of deckboats. Still in.
Let's deckboat.

11-21-2023 10:03 PMEvery time family or groups of friends visit we end up renting a pontoon for over $500 for a half day to have room for 8 or 10 people.
Figured if we bought a pontoon we'd save some bucks in the long run, but then a deck boat seems to be better in salt water so started looking for something that even Bobcat could drive after a few beers......
And relatives and friends could take it out if they wanted and not worry about ruining an expensive boat.
That's the plan.Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

"Paul's deckboat went over."
"What happened? Trip and stuff?"
"No, took the ballast off the bow and it just flipped backwards."

Did a little research. I would keep it stock. It appears to be Hurricane Fun Deck hull number 1.
In all seriousness, I just fell down the rabbit hole of deck boats. This one has the first actual bartop I have ever seen on a small boat. https://www.boattrader.com/boat/2014...36-wb-9029810/
You drive, I'm sitting in the back like miss daisy.
"How did John's deckboat flip?"
"Took the ballast off the front and he and Bobcat were sitting at the bar. Flipped straight back."Last edited by fund razor; 11-22-2023 at 06:52 AM.

My buddy George just inherited a brand new engine if it needs it. A 1980 25 HP mercury 2 stroke still in the crate.
