He did exceptionally well with his crash course of leash and house training. We would circle house regularly with my other dogs lead. Poor Chief the new dog did not poop for 3 days. Fortunately I awoke form the couch where I had been sleeping all week to his panting. I let him out and he drug my on the leash far from the house to poop. Thank good he came thru. There would have been a lot of yake to clean up too.
After a few more days he settled in.
I also have three hens I was caring for.
Eva and Chief
Everyone made it thru after many prayers and much good fortune.
Half thawed yesterday. By end of day today only the evidence of broken trees will remain. Many are still without water. Electricity for most part is back to normal.

02-20-2021 11:31 AMIn the worst of it I would sit in the dark cold wondering what I would do if forced to evacuate house. What to do with animals? Where to go? Would diesel truck even start?
I can not express how grateful I am we were able to overcome.

I broke a bench vise Saturday. By hand. A 4.5 inch Irwin.
Using a breaker bar against a barrel nut on a rifle held by a reaction rod. Broke the vise and it warped. Bought a better vise and froze the barrel and receiver for a few hours at 0 degrees. Took it out and put a torch on one side for a second and the breaker bar and... POP! Barrel nut was probably torqued to 100+
I realize it wasn't a heavy duty vise, but I have never broken a vise before. Damn Chinesium.
