Well, I guess it's time to revive the "Winter Projects" Thread. After looking at post 100, I am embarrassed to report that I have not made much progress on last winter's project. I am hoping to get the last stringer infused in the Scorpion some time this week. I am also completing fabrication of the polished stainless hatch hinges for the Apache this week.
What's everyone else doing?
Parvey?
Ryan?
Mobilemercman?
Bueller?

These are the seats I will be using, though they will be covered in white. Unlike the sparcos they look like, these aren't hard shelled, they are tube framed with suspension webbing under the foam so they should be pretty comfy. They are also making them 4 inches taller to give a little more head support in the event of a stuff.

10-23-2013 11:00 PMClass 6 is a really tough class because of the super-high horsepower boats in a supposed "beginner/amateur" class.

sticking with the big block. after running it,other than the occasional race it would be boring being a 60 mph boat. Rventually something around 500~525 hp would be nice

What would you expect from 525hp in that boat?
I'm guessing mid 70's, maybe 80 if perfect conditions and dialed in.
Probably a better competitor with the power and rough water.
Just guessing.

10-24-2013 10:31 PMThe biggest problem in Class 6 is acceleration. Some of those 24 and 26 foot boats have 700+ horsepower.
