I don't know why this popped into my head... but... in 1986 I hung with a buddy who also had a 38' Scarab. He was a slender very tanned "middle eastern" looking Greek guy; we were forever pranking each other - you know - surreptitiously tieing deck lines to each other's boats, replacing all the wine on each other's boats with kool-aid,, limburgher cheese in the engine compartments - you know the drill. So he has "SCARAB" lettered on the back of his boat. He kept his boat in a marina so, we couldn't resist. After researching the font type and letter size of "SCARAB", we carefully peeled off the vinyl lettering and replaced it with " SCARED-ARAB". Damned if it didn't take him over a week of enduring snickers and strange finger pointing to figure it out - best laugh I've ever had.

making progress.... got my motor mounts cleaned up and the hardware sorted out, got the steering wheel fixed up, replaced the rams on my engine hatch amd it stays up now instead of falling on my head, got most of the sticky stuff off the windshield. I want to shoot the guy for putting that sticky film all over it, getting it cleaned off is about a major b!tch!! I have to scrub it off with scotchbrite pad, goof off and wd40, then polish out all the scratches that leaves. Hoping to see the motor before next weekend. Bought a battery today too.

So if it is an older boat, it may not work all the time...or be very slow to respond
