Just cought wind of a new law passed in Florida. Drug Testing will be required to receive welfare. This is the first positive news I've heard in a long time. Can you imagine how much money the state will save in handouts. Hopefully other states will follow.

I agree.
One thought is that I hope it doesn't drive up crime when druggies are denied benefits.

I wish we'd do that here. Instead we've opened a place for druggies to do their drugs under medical supervision. They also have a special exemption from federal drug laws, so you can't be busted for drug possession on the premises. info here: Vancouver’s Supervised Drug Injection Center: How Does It Work? | The Awl tax payer funded drug use here!

...A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one - big hitter, the Lama - long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier. Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-lagunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me.

Sorry for the hijack.
Maybe the Florida Welfare changes are an indicator of a values shift in society.

As for the new law in Florida I think that they should pass that law in all 50 states. I hate it when I stand in line at a supermarket and the person in front of me is buying BS items with a state food stamp card. I want to take it out of their hands and cut it up.
