I'm sure Rampgirl will carve out her own little place here.
I look forward to meeting her in person at Firebird this year.
What's the schedule for the season opener? Maybe Fund can make it too.

Thanks Artie- and my apologies for calling you Ginger in another thread. Guessing that means your either a red head or Ginger from Gilligans Island was your favorite??
Not real sure about the fate of Firebird and boat racing at the moment, it's still early and there should be some news coming out of Vegas this weekend. Lucas awards are this weekend. I think the season opener for Lucas's national series is in Cali. Not sure what my travel schedule is gonna look like just yet but will definatley be in Havasu in October!!!
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

01-08-2013 09:02 PMNah, call him Ginger!!!!
Welcome. Love the drag boats. We lost a great one there from here in West Michigan a couple years ago. John was incredibly fast!!!!
Why drag boats? I have to tell you, I went right at 143 in a picklefork drag boat around your lifetime ago and it was a heck of a ride...... (Lived in Oregon then)Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

John and his family hold a very special place in my heart. The crash that took his life was bone chilling. As a board member for Racers Emergency Support program and one of his biggest fans it was very very hard to make that trip to the hospital and even harder bringing his wife back to the track without him. If you have never been to the Wheatland track, you should make it a priority. John would have rocked that course! We have a brick marker area with all kinds of bricks that memorialize lost racers, heros and family along with regular bricks that just leave our stamp that we were there and plan on coming back!

Ratickle- sorry part two- why drag boats? Cuz bass fishing just gets ya dinner and a buzz. It started in the 90's- ex hubby had a buddy that bought a boat....long story short, we split and they booted him from the team and kept me. Who the heck knows why?? Guess cuz I never forgot that the big gear goes on top!
And a right turn??? Was ya running in a K boat?? And perhaps a little lost cuz they turn left like NASCAR?
