Ok, I have a 90 Nova with SBC and Gen 1 Alphas
When I trim up the drives, or down, they creak really bad
I have lubed and greased them w/o success
Any thoughts on this?
Boat sat for approx 2 years and I purchased it

First purge air from hydraulic system. Add correct amount of fluid with drive in down position. Run it up and down one time and check fluid level again. Run the drive up and down several more times; that should purge air. You should inspect the fluid itself to check for water in system. If so, then rams need attention. Good luck.

Unhook them and then try it. So you can see if it is the rams or the pivots in the helmet, may even be the ram bushings.

09-06-2012 10:17 PMIt's not the hyd rams. It is the drive pivot points.

Popped off the lines and drained the system: filled, purged and repeated for good measure, after the first session of the flush it almost eliminated all of the noise and issues.
Has been working great to this point, only 2 sessions of water time, but working well!
