Got a call that a 29' Outerlimits canopied SVL was spotted on LOTO testing. Sounds like there is a new player (boat) in the class. If it's there being wrung out, there is a very short list of possible owners. Does anyone else think there may be a Fountain SVL for sale really soon?
No pictures yet, I'm sure they'll follow though.....

08-24-2012 07:51 AMAll Vee's chine walk (If you're on the edge).
It is a good looking boat. I am looking forward to seeing the canopy windshield construction. That is a lot of area, but from the pics it looks as if the backside has more support of the poly for strength.Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

08-25-2012 03:54 PMThey ran the drag race but did not report speeds. Fiore ran the open 29 and hit 98 with the 600 engine.

08-27-2012 12:51 PMThere were 2 open Outerlimits 29' boats at the shootout, Not all boats Chine walk on the edge, actually none of them that work right chine walk at all. I am guessing your confusing a little wiggle wiggle with an actual chine walk. I managed over to Capt. Rons on sunday for a bit and would have to say the drag race thing with those little canoes, and no posted speeds was the most ridiculous thing I have seen in Shootout History. And I don't know if anyone can confirm a stock engine in any of those boats.

I have attended each of the
Lake of the Ozarks shootout events for the past 24 years at LOTO. Indeed it has developed as the one of the largest unsanctioned boat races in the country, but the primary purpose is to raise funds that are directed to the many charitable organizations and the Lake Rescure Teams. Many people volunteer there time, over a year, to make this a success.
We were asked to do this "Drag" race at specific times of the missing man fly over ( in respect for our 2 racing friends from LOTO that passed away last November) on Saturday and Sunday. Because of the rain delay on Sunday, it was not well orchestrated with the missing man flyover.
We are sorry it did not meet your personal expectations, but I am sure you found other methods to support the fund raising activity in your community this year.

08-27-2012 11:05 PMI'll give you the "wiggle, wiggle", but I still call it a chine walk. Anyone who's spent time in an Allison or Hydrostream knows it isn't a wiggle, wiggle.
As for the drag race, I'm with Doc. The exhibition with the planes and the drag race in honor of those who started that tradition but are no longer with us, deserves the utmost respect from us all. Thanks.
We all wish they would have posted speeds on the OL SVL, but even more I wish they would have run it alone. I'm sure we'll see it in a race, probably Clearwater would be my best guess.Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!
