Tropical Storm ISAAC, calm before the storm, storm, and aftermath, PHOTO BLOG

It looks like our little slice of paradise, is expecting an un-welcome visitor.
Time to hope for the best, and begin to make preparations for the worst.

Current forecasts are showing a slight weakling and a gradual drift to the West.
Both are good news for SW Florida. As you can see in the first photo below, it
is calm and another beautiful day in Sw Florida. Today it is beginning to get a bit breezy.

River photo was taken around 11:00am 8/24.

Beginning to make preparations. This is about 4-5, 24hour days, worth of generator fuel. Worst case, I use it in the generator, best case, it goes into one of the cars or boats, after the storm.

NEW PHOTOS AT PHOTO BLOG. Isaac, keeps plowing along, getting closer
and stronger. I just plotted the current NHC (11:00am 8/25/12) discussion
forecast coordinates in my navigation system. They have the center 85 miles
offshore from Marco Island, 93 miles offshore from Ft Myers Beach, and 107
    miles offshore from my house.

center 120 miles offshore from Marco Island, 144 miles offshore from Ft Myers

Dull is good, then it comes to these storms.
I lived through Charley, no power 14 days, no water 17 days. Virtually leveled my town. Dull is very good!
Major westerly movement all day today.

Thanks for the pics Frank. Have always loved your "back yard." Hope that you and your place are safe and sound for many seasons to come.

Isaac, is moving farther away every minute. A series of
Westward movements, spared SW Florida. Todays
actual marine weather: SOUTHEAST WINDS 35 TO 40
KNOTS WITH GUSTS AROUND 50 KNOTS. SEAS 12 TO
16 FEET. BAY AND INLAND WATERS EXTREMELY
    ROUGH. SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS.

If I felt I could get the boat off the lift, and then back on the lift
I might......on second thought......we will have to boat another day.

The wind is really whipping out of the SE. High tide was at 12:12pm, just about 2 hours ago. Here is what my back yard looks like at 2:00pm.
