Two injured in water crashes

Two men were injured in unrelated water crashes in the Florida Keys over the weekend, with one of them airlifted to a Miami hospital.
Eduardo Rodrigeuz, 59, was flown to Ryder Trauma Center after his 18-foot Mirage overturned at about 5:18 p.m. Saturday near Stillwright Point in Key Largo, said Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokesman Bobby Dube.
Rodriguez, who was alone, was thrown from the boat. A nearby boater witnessed the crash and reported it, Dube said.
On Sunday, two men from Switzerland were on an Old Town Rentals personal watercraft tour off Key West just after 5 p.m. when a watercraft operated by Chappuis Lucien, 22, struck the rear of another craft operated by his friend, Stefan Jenson, 29, near the Boca Chica Bridge, Dube said.
Jenson was taken to Lower Keys Medical Center with back injuries, Dube said. Lucien was cited for careless operation.

I bet that 18' Mirage was hauling the mail. There used to be a yellow one down here with a Merc drag motor that ran 127 MPH.
