Magnum Force / Thriller 74 Magnum
I an trying to find some old photos of a 1974 Magnum Maltese that raced on the west coast. It was sold to Burbank Marine and change hands a few times along with it being painted 4-5-times.We know it was called Magnum Force because when we sanded it down getting it ready for the name was visible.
I have attached some photos that might help you identify it includes one of it's first paintseemss. However it left the factory as an orange boat with a flat floor in the cabin. It also has an interesting dash set up and used a 3 man bolster. Your help in finding original photos would be greatly appreciated. Bud

Bud,
When I raced in POPRA back in late 1970's early 1980's Chuck Rodolph had a 27 or 28 Magnum by the name of Magnum Force. As I recall it was mostly a red boat with a pair of small blocks. Like most of our boats, the equipment was kind of "make do however". Chuck had Volvo drives that were fixed in a set trim position with tube or flat bar. It was always a hoot watching him try to hit the starting line on plane at the right moment. I don't know where Randel WA is but I think that Chuck lived on or near Lake Washington in those days. He had to be 10 or so years older than me so that puts him around 70 now if he's still kickin. Hope this helps.
Jeff

You're talking DB Coopersville.......
I have no relatives close to there, but lots of friends and relatives in Washington. If that is who it is, I may be able to get someone up there.Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

Got a call from Charles Newman Rudolph from Randrel...not the same one. Need to locate the Chuck Rudolph in lake WA.,may be is the one??? Keep digging because we want to put the original racing name possibly Magnum Force in the original style back on the boat, and the persons who raced and throttled it.This boat went thru some major re work wiring, two huge gas filters and an extra set of gas tanks just in front of the mid bulked, which have been removed. The original boat had no cockpit liner, see photos. Keep the info coming. Bud

10-20-2011 05:57 PMI copied, enlarged, enhanced the best I could (kinda looks like a Jayboat redo, oops), and have them attached. Maybe one of the better Photoshop guys could do a better job. Or maybe the originals are somewhere out there?
