I agree the ocean will make any class more competitive.

Any ideas on what seperate the lavey and activator from the Phantoms and Extremes? Seemed anytime an SVL went over it was the lavey or activator. Not familiar enough with the boats, what's so different? I assume the step designs are totally different.

10-28-2011 03:10 PMPig Iron, an Extreme has been over too. I would attribute most cases to human error. Whether it was a trim, throttle or driver error any boat can have a bad day given the right set of circumstances.

11-27-2011 09:36 AMWell, I've pretty much talked with everyone, and it seems as if a Phantom has never gone over. There is a possibility it happened once, but landed right side up, so they are not positive.
I actually believe the Lavey could be had for less than $25,000 if someone was really interested with cash....Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

12-01-2011 08:51 PMThe last time I chatted with Chris, lavey jr. on here, he said the boat was at Lavey Craft, $25,000 or reasonable offer;

01-05-2012 01:34 PMLavey Jr. Knowing what you do about the boat and its handeling is there something the factory feels will help it or do you fell there is no problem. I would think this boat would sell in a heart beat if someone had some help from the factory. Its a great solid well built boat.

What kind of money would we be talking to obtain a motor,gimbal,drive and steering for this boat?

01-05-2012 04:42 PMI would guess to say it would be about $35,000 to find a good motor with exhaust , gimbal and drive. Then it would be PLUS PLUS for everything else you would need. Props, strap. helmets, jackets, intercom....so on. You most likely will have 65-70 in the boats before it was done, that is a lot of boat for that money. As Randy said it is built solid and has the best of everything in it. I think with some minor work to the bottom you could settle that boat down and make a runner out of it.

01-05-2012 08:52 PMI would suggest an IMCO box we have tried both and the OMCO seems to work better .

Hey Paul! I'm doing good, been real busy this last year at the shop. How have you been?
Haha I have been out in it recently... As in, inside it out in the shop detailing it haha
Most of the boats racing life it had the "full" Lavey NuEra bottom. Then towards the end of it's racing carreer the bottom was blue printed to the new bottom. Now by new I mean slightly different, the only thing changed was the lip strakes were removed along with a couple strakes. So in other words its a tuned down version of the original NuEra design...
Now when this change was made the setup on drive height and everything else was changed so many times that it never got to run with the correct setup. Then it was changed to NXT which did not work at all...
So at this point the boat needs to be setup with an Imco box/drive at the X dim that Lavey knows will work the best and has been proven to work great on a very similar boat (28 EVO).
