The lake today, holy shrinkage batman!
Love the 8' upgrade! Such a nice easy relaxing drive, so much more room, LOVE it!
On another note Boaters beach don`t look like it used to anymore, the lazy river is 1/4 of its length and doe not flow anymore
Is the factory closing down?
Thats where it used to be:

The big storm messed it up a few weeks ago
It normally changes ever few years anyway.
The big question now is where is the sandbar, or did that move to !!!!???

Both the NIPSCO Baily Station Power Gen. Station and ArcelorMittal Burns Harbor are still operating.

Where the boat is sitting it`s only waist deep, coming in it was pretty shallow in places.
I gotta get my depth gauge working, it rings an alarm when shallow sometimes but does not show a depth reading at all.
btw, I love the 8' upgrade! Ride is like a Cadillac, seats are awesome, I can actually sit while driving, (the AT I was standing the whole time), the windscreen is functional making for a better ride. Tyler Crockett motors sound great and starting a MPI motor a bit easier than my last 600sc. SO much more room for everything, love that part. I can`t wait to go out again!
Whats best for a larger boat at the dock? I used to walk the old one on/off.
Tried it with this but ended up with half the boat beyond the dock when getting off the trailer. Didn`t attempt to walk back on just drove it on.Last edited by ICDEDPPL; 05-09-2011 at 10:08 AM.

The river is at peak capacity in summer when everyone is consuming lots of energy. Last weekend no one using heat or ac = no lazy river!

Wow, gonna be fun trying to launch the boat in Michigan City. New Buffalo would work but $20 per launch is a killer. Might have to drive the extra 20 to 30 minutes to Pastrick this year to get the boat off the trailer..

Dan...those crazy Hoosiers get to launch for free in their own state. Seems strange that the lake would be low after a wet winter and a record wet April...?

Agreed record snowfall down here in Indiana and rain everyday, I don't get why the lake level is low either????
Mike, the only ramp I'm aware of that Hoosiers don't pay is Hammond, everywhere else they charge. New Buffalo is a different story there price is different everytime I have been there, I guess it depends on who's working

Twin Whacker, I think pastrick is 20 bucks, Hammond was 30 bucks last year! A that point, its worth it to buy a yearly pass, or get a slip for the night. I know at pastrick, they used to wave the launch fee, if you were getting a slip. Which equated to an extra 15 bucks and you got a slip for the night. Not that you would be overnighting much on the twin whacker

05-10-2011 02:40 PMIf you review the record snowfall, most was lake effect when winds were from the north or north-northwest. That type of effect actually lowers the lake level for the first part of the following year because so much water is removed from the lake in the form of snow.
Kind of weird....Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

Dan,
glad you like the boat that much, knew you would. Wait til you can get some air time in it. Those 33's fly pretty decent just run a little tab. I'll still swing by one of these eves when it aint ranin to see it and revew some electric with you. I still have your cell and will call, or give me a call, whichever.
I think that coal plant is used mostly as a peaker unit-when electricity demand is mid to high. It might be just idle currently or off. But yeah the lake sure looks low still. I think Rattickle is right.
