Just bought an 02 2500HD with a 6.0 and 4.10 gears. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to wake this motor up?

I have a new 2010 w/6.0.... I just did a Diablo tune last weekend and customized the fuel and spark tables for 93 fuel, cold air box, made a NICE difference, fuel mileage seems better too... very happy with it so far,,,

How far you want to go?
Hot Rod magazine is ALWAYS showing a TON of LS powerplants with new this or that and HUGE HP #s...this month shows "basic" building tips comparing old school SBC to newer LS. Some 6.0 bottom ends have produce over 1,000 horse in different projects and rides they have shown. I had a 2001 2500HD with the 6.0, even though it got bought back as a lemon, I was impressed by the motor to say the least. For a "small block" VERY impressed. Good Luck, enjoy the fun!

just ordered a custom tune from wait4me perfromace in Indiana. Justin never got back to me. They clain 20-30 HP more, adjusting shift points, and more torque. I think this is a good starting point for $163.00 and i can keep the core. My next step will be cold air intake and exhaust.

wow,,,, thats strange,,,,its usually late, but he always answers.
Im sure you will notice improvement as I have heard good things about wait for me as well.
What I liked about Justin is he sent me a cable to plug into a laptop and drive around so he had the exact parameters of my truck,,,, just a lil bonus.

I agree,,,, and I have a sneaky suspicion that most of the gains are from removing the torque management.
Make sure you post the results !!!!

NO JOKE with the new tune from wait 4 me i can smoke the tires of this truck - unbelievble power and peformance. I just put it in today, my check engine light is on which has me concerened BUT i was told to take to dealer within a week and have a case relearn done. and i can not feel the differnece when the truck is in tow haul mode anymore.

Yup,,,,do a case relearn and the light will go off,,,,,will run a little better as well

well after i had the case relearn done i have noticed the truck is getting 13-14 mpg on average as before it was 10-11. not towing the truck is a blast to drive, the power is alot better and a lot smoother. towing the truck is no faster up the hills but the rpm's are a lot lower... example there is a steep hill between my house and the ramp before the truck was 5200 rpms at 45 mph now its 3300 rpms at 45 mph which has kept the trans. a lot cooler! I wish it could pull the hill at 55 like my dodge (5.7 hemi) did but all in all i am very happy and it was a great investment for $163.00.
