Good question. I don't see a problem inviting people back. A lot of people have not bashed the site. The one's that have, I don’t think they will accept the invitation any way. But grudges build resentment. If we hold grudges and don't offer to allow them to return we are just fueling the fire.

06-10-2010 05:56 PMThe best way to run a site is with open doors. Otherwise, keeping people banned will keep fueling resentment against the site.
LOL, Looks like David basically said the same thing___▬_▬_▬___

When We first started this site, We all agreed that everyone got a fresh start.....no old agendas, it served us well...there are several people that I shared drinks and food with that I would like to comeback.

06-10-2010 08:25 PMI think the powers that be are assuming that EVERYONE knows what all the crap was about, and I not only don't know, I don't care.
Maybe the offshore websites should take an example from the racers, and organizers.
If the racers vowed to never race again with people they have bashed or been bashed by........who would be out there.
If a race director vowed to never let a racer return that bashed him.......
Need I say more.
I just know I met some great people in KW last year and now they aren't here anymore.
Move on and get over it, let everyone back that wants to come back....it's not a national disaster.

Dave you know how that I feel about OSO and the old ownership and his clique of friends. You and Chris allowed me on this site with a fresh start and I thank you for that. Hopefully we will not have computer rambo's on here who hide behind their computers and run there mouths about things that they know nothing about. I wish you and the whole SOS team the best.

I don't know enough about the issues to comment intelligently. Chris has made a number of posts since the inception that summarized our "code of conduct"; I'd like to see one of those or a synopsis of those posted as a sticky and continue to let everyone weigh in about re-opening the doors. - Jeff

I have mixed feelings about this.
First, some of them should have not banned to begun with, however anyone can sign on with a different screen name and still participate. It’s an open site and should remain open. That being said, while I have no problems anyone returning (and some I would like to see back) there are those who are full of hypocrites and I would not welcome and would absolutely not extend an invitation. They want to part take in boating related discussions… fine. The drama has to stay somewhere else. This site is about boating and related activities and topics, not personal agendas and personality issues.Life is: what happens... when you plan something else.
