Maybe?
But the freeze frame guy , was not allowed to shoot any photos up close, or when th engine compartment was open , in Biloxi,,,,,
As much crap has been tossed at them recently, I bet they will not be generous with his boat exposure, or time for spectators.
But the million $$$ questions is,,,,,,, are your sure the Fountain SVL is coming to SIB?

here is a little insight....and let me qualify this post by saying that I am a friend of Doc Janssen and was part of his crew in KeyWest and Biloxi....Doc got to ride in a SVL at LOTO and after the ride thought that it would a perfect class for his son Matt to get involved in offshore racing and not be in such an extreme boat such as the Stampede....it appeared that it was a competitive and growing class that was open arms to new racers and competition (Kudos to George and the other SVL teams)...Doc being a Fountain guy through and through decided to build a SVL Fountain...some think this was under a cloud of secrecy but actually no one knew when the boat would be built so why speculate?....it was really that simple....as it was Brian Forehand and the team at Fountain worked their tails off and remarkably got the boat ready for Biloxi...so we leaked a photo to create a buzz thinking that everyone would be excited about a new entry....and for the most part the majority (not all) of SVL teams were saying bring it on.....not one person on Doc's team came on here and said we were going to dominate, kick a$$, or anthing of that nature.....after alot of chatter we go to Biloxi, the boat gets heavily scrutinized by the OSS officials and is deemed legal to race...it races gets third place (would have been great to win but the team was happy with a podium finish)....boat passes post race inspection and all is good....we go to awards ceremony and with all the speculation behind us look forward to mixing with the other teams and talk about the next race......and then George gets up to accept his award for his first place finish and in the public area(the lobby of a casino) in one statement insults Doc, Doc's son Matt, Brian Forehand, our entrie team and specifically Reggie Fountain....WTF.....completely uncalled for....admittedly George apologized for his statement in private but the damage was done.....Doc is understandbly pissed and he calls George out on it (in private)....all of a sudden the rules are going to change, Doc's win in Cumberland is demeaned, and is then accused of cheating in Biloxi.....I believe George must be a good guy...he has the respect of his class, is well liked, and won a coveted sportsmanship award in Biloxi....but why on earth meet a team with such resistance?...it is common sense if you build a class that is the most successful in offshore, others are going to want to participate....Doc has been portrayed as a guy with a ton of money trying to buy his success via OSS when in reality he thought it would be a fun class for his son to participate and learn in.....did he bring a boat that could win and put the most capable operator (Brian Forehand) in it? of course, his son is in it....I know some are going to wave the BS flag but the facts are the facts...sorry this was so long and thanks for reading

06-09-2010 03:19 PMThanks for the input.
Wasn't there, don't know what George said, but real men apologize. I'm sure, knowing George, it was sincere. I hope Doc understands and accepts.
Wonder what would have happened if the new Fountain had been announced at conception instead of completion????Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

Still think a template would be easy for all boats.Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

06-09-2010 03:52 PMBullhead, I enjoy competition and the rivalries that are associated with it. I agree with your take on the awards. I would just like to add his poor choice of words at that moment does not accurately portray his character. Most of the hype before the event came from outside our class. George felt triumphant in his efforts and was addressing that hype as I understand it. It did not come out as intended.. It is now over and done with. I hope we can all move on.
We have a great bunch of racers new and old in our class. There has been a lot of attention leading up to the season.. Now that it has begun the attention has multiplied.
I hope the momentum can continue and everyone's input can be positive.
