I've always heard steel won't last a year after a few salt water dunkings... Been worrying me. I put mine in twice then ran to Lake Norman the next day to rinse off/out and had an excuse for one more run/swim/Margaritta on the way home.
Seems you can paint the outside all you want but what about the inside? I want to do some salt water trips this summer. What have you guys found?

I can a Steel trailer that I hauled at least once a week in the summers to the river( Salt),always washed afterwards and never had a problem. Painted maybe twice in 10 years.

01-31-2011 08:11 PMHello, i like this rebuild and to answer your question... i think since this one here is a C-channel trailer there would not be anything holding the saltwater.
I also seen a lot of steel trailers in salt water and never looked like they have a major problem if well maintained!
