The late Paul Smith took the old Natural Light Bertram and restored it as the Bertram 38 Competition. Paul sold it to his friend Joe who keep it here on Lake St Clair untill Joe sold it last year. I believe it is now in Europe.

05-04-2010 10:32 PMOK. I only saw the #75 car. It had RG engines similar to the ones that Harold prepared for Long Shot.

I would guess that the #57 stood for a fallen racer who he respected...but just a guess!

05-12-2010 11:07 AMI believe the number 57 on Jack's vest was the orginal racing number on the 35 Cigarette that was run by Mike A's dad.....Conspiracy......and Jack was the throttleman.
That boat by the way ran a beautiful set of twin 4 barrels on top of each engine, rather than the period fuel injection stacks.Light travels faster than sound....that is why some people appear bright until we hear them speak!!

05-12-2010 02:25 PMI think Charlie nailed it. I became friends with Jack's son Michael from being at all the races(we were close in age) but, haven't seen or heard from him in years.
