So last summer I signed a one year lease for a place in Guelph. At the end of the first semester I graduated and sublet it to a friend of friend. The cost was 450 a month but I dropped it to 400. My bestfriend, the guy I was subletting to and myself were sating in the bedroom chatting about the place, and I told him that I was pretty sure last month was covered by the guy before me. The deal was that if it happened that last month was covered, he would give me $150 dollars back for the amount I was short when I cut the rent to get rid of the place, if it was not covered we would call it even. So I sent the guy a text message the other day asking if last month was covered, he said yes it was. I sent him a message back saying great can I get the 150 bucks. He said he has no recollection of ever agreeing to that or for that matter even talking about that. My friend remembers the conversation and how I had to explain it to him a number of times how it would work.
So my question is, do I just drop it and forget the $150 or what?

Josh, I know you're a young guy, and $150 can mean alot to you right now.
Trust me, it really isn't.
I'd chalk it up as a lesson learned on the people I choose as friends, and those that I get involved with in business transactions.
It cost me thousands more to learn these lessons.
I only hope that one day I quit learning lessons, but it seems everytime you turn around there is someone else reaching into your pocket, or attacking your character. Character goes a long way in my book, not in what you've done, but in how you handle and carry yourself.
I'd put a little pressure on him, but not so much that it becomes your life work over $150.
Any coorelation to any other events, real, or fictitious, currently going on are simply coincidental, and not the claimed to be fact of the author or writer of this post"Keep the bottle on the bar Ira, I won't be long".

Well it's not like the money would be going in my pocket anyways, I would be giving it to my parents as they were the ones that put it out. As is always said, I should have had a contract, but hindsight is 20/20.

For $150 it's not worth the trouble. Let it go.
