need some advice on where to stay for the cumberland race in june. we are bringing the race boat and would like to stay where the wet pits are or nearby. we will also have our younger kids with us and need advice since we have not been to this race site before.. any suggestions would be great,

Yes all the events will be run at the Somerset end of the lake....

There are several hotels on the south end of Somerset that will be within a few miles of the pits. Holiday Inn Express, Hampton Inn are the two best. The hotels on the south end of town will be your best bet.

is there really that much area down there to run a race like this?

There are no "On Water" Accomodations down there. Burnside Marina may have some rental Houseboats available. www.burnsidemarina.com They are just east of the course.
The course is going to be tight. From what I've heard it will have the most turns of any OSS course. Should be interesting...
