Your Lavey makes me think that this might be a great boat to get into the West Coast market more for OL. A lot of guys out there don't want any bigger because it doesn't work for their lakes, so this could be a really cool alternative to DCB's, Lavey, Eliminator, etc.

A 28-30 ft boat hits a lot of sweet spots for a wide range of guys- much smaller the boats gets tight inside, much bigger as you say and you run into lake restrictions, towing issues, storage, it goes on and on.
I think this range of product will be the "new" size that most of these guys will build new going forward. Were seeing it already.
There is also a LOT of really tough competition in this space.
OL has a great advantage and is in a tough place at the same time.
They can make the hull really light, that usually gets you great speed with midrange power- If they charge too much the competition will add power to run equal or better speed for the same price. They really need to get the details right - and I trust they will build a compelling product.
Will the finish hold up 15 years in the Arizona/Cali sun?
Many of us guys here in the West came from the Midwest or East and are always looking for killer product.
I wish them well and will be watching this project closely.

What will the waterline on this boat be without the bustle -24 feet?
Beak vs. Bustle ---I could care less. Just have always found it odd and annoying how some manufacturers claim the size of their boats. Mine (Intrepid) included.

True. But how much testing has taken place and how extensive was it? I find it hard to believe that on a 28 foot boat traveling at speeds less than 90 mph would show any significant aerodynamic differences due to a bustle. I am not saying that I am right, I would just like too see some data on it. Now on a big cat or v traveling well over 100 mph, I would believe that there would be a noticable difference.

So does the bussle "suck" the boat down or does it lighten up the stern or ???
I like smaller boats for my area- river boating with 0-1 foot chop, a 40 footer is kind of boring at 70MPH in a way. Notch it up to 100 and your having fun but it's still not as fun IMHO as a 28 footer at 80MPH in the same water.
