01-29-2010 08:54 PMI wonder how much design rework was done by John (Cosker) to the design.

I have no opinion either way as I was not involved with his dealings, all i know is bs usually follows from both sides when his name is brought up. Like I said, all I have consistently heard is the molds are beautiful.
The molds were originally designed for Thad Allen of "apache," and pantera bought them when that deal fell apart. According to an article posted on OSO, John helped rework the design. (according to the article, he has helped with Pantera's design before) Just reporting what was said in the article, I have no direct info, if any of this is incorrect feel free to correct me.

01-29-2010 09:08 PMTRISTAR, thanks for the input, although I would like to hear more about where, how and why these molds came about. It is interesting to know the history and then the realization. I think Pantera is onto something here, just can't figure out what took so long!

I'd like to hear the history of them, the design, how they ended up at Pantera, etc.
Im always up for learning the inner workings of the marine industry, even if it results in a deleted thread,
Jo and Pepe have said for a while now if someone wants a 41, the molds are ready to go. A small pic (of the deck) with some drawings have been on their website as well. I think it was a situation where they didnt have an interested buyer, so they were going to wait to pop a boat until one came around. Im extremely excited for them that they now have the opportunity to build this new model.Last edited by Tristar Racing; 01-29-2010 at 09:17 PM.

Very cool. I can't wait for about five years until there are some used ones on the market so I can actually afford one. Definately tops on my "next boat list"

Pepe Is a was an extreme rough water racer from the old days and Pantera Boats who BTW is the oldest boat builder around here under the same ownership, this guy who gave me some sound advice in the old days when I was at PH Factor custom boats off 58th street back in the 70's and wanted to start building my own boats.

I think that there was more to that conversation IF I recall it correct.
I "THINK" it was something that Mr. Cal Connel (remember him?) had told me one day.
Needless to say he was quite a bit older than myself who @ the time was in my middle 20's. Mr Connel said,
pepe you better decide quick if you want to be a good boat builder or a good businessman! Up till today I have NOT forgotten those words.
Later, pp @ pantera.
