Someone can probably give you better information but I'm in the Lake Norman area 3-4 times a month for work and think area is great.

Mooresville, Huntersville, Cornelius. From Exit 25 to 36 on I-77 area is all close to the water. Our office is located in Mooresville and I can be to the water within minutes.

Sorry - didn't see the post. I have lived here for about 2.5 yrs. Moved from NE OH as my job relocated me here (we are now moving to ATL in May). Everyone here is from MI, OH, PA or upstate NY. We wouldn't be leaving if it wasn't such a good career move for me to move again...

LKN is awesome as far as place to live. We lived in Cornelius in the apartments across from Mid Town Sundries (Bexley at Harborside) until we found a place and had it built in Concord (on the Davidson Concord boarder - Moss Creek is the development). Cost of living is good, lake is nice, deep, clear and warm. People are great and the people around seem very nice.

Let me know some specifics for questions. I don't much about living in Mooresville. The NASCAR guys are all over the place and are very cool guys.

I dry rack store my boat at Westport Marina in Denver. The best place to drink on the lake is the Rusty Rudder and the best place to eat (bar food) is Exit 36 Billiards. Best place to eat (fine dining) is NorthePoint Harbor Club. All water accessible.

I don't know what kind of hardware you are dealing with - but it may be tough to go on long stretches of 100 mph runs... Lake can get kind of crowded on weekends and isn't a ton of long straight stretches.

    Hope this helps.

These are the exits for "the lake people." You can go to south CLT and you get into Lake Wylie and the up town crowd which all can be fun too!

Our corporate campus is off exit 25 and you can almost smell the lake when I get out of the office on a good spring day.

After going there this week end the west side of the lake looks like a better option. Instead of traveling 30 to 40 minutes to work it would be like 15 or 20 . What do you think about Shirrills Ford? There seams to be several homes on and close to the lake that rent pretty reasonably.
