Dude, you have to call Bob RMbuilder for your cam. Your going to have to run high RPM to build your power. What CI does that come out to? I am not familiar with your heads, you say oval port? You should trade Bajabob for his big Rec heads. I hope you have a well built outdrive for that kind of power. Good luck with your new build!!

I took a look at your link. Looks like you are a event planner. Is this engine for a Raceboat or just for fun and advertisement?

725hp@6200 hp 670tq @ 4700...
As of the cam is it advertised degrees or .050" numbers ?
If .050" I wanna be at the dyno to see that sucker blow up at the Rpmīs the Cam is starting to work..
I mean with a 4.5 CRANK AND 1.48 ROD RATIO (which sucks bigtime with the heavy reciprocating mass) IīD GO WAY DOWN with the piston speed when racing a whole season...Last edited by MikeyFIN; 11-26-2009 at 11:18 AM.
Offshore Racing wasnīt designed to be a spectator sport, it's for people or companies with's lots of money to push the envelope of endurance technology and hopefully put a trophy on a mantle. It's man vs the elements, not like boats with like engines running in circles.

11-26-2009 10:40 AMIts for a raceboat, but a ovalport head makes more tourqe then a rectangular one !!!!!!
I am trying to stay around 6000-6200 RPM which is VERY safe for the 1.48 ratio.
But it could be that i need a diffrent cam,,,not saying this one is perfect .
Thats why i posted this,,,,,INPUT.Last edited by DAREDEVIL; 11-26-2009 at 11:44 AM.

11-26-2009 10:57 AMBoth of you guys have things to bring to the table in a boating discussion without being azzes. I used to enjoy the ribbing you guys gave, and took. Got to meet both of you in Key West. Got to see DD's boat run. So now I'm hoping I get to see some decent conversations and experienced input, not the petty crap. People are different, that's how we learn.
Think about it, okay?
And both of you have a happy Thanksgiving, even though I know it is not celebrated in Finland.
At that high of RPM I don't think you have enough cam to peak there and it'll fall a little lower for your peak horsepower. Probably in the 5900 to 6000 range. So, I'm going with 815 HP peak at 6000 and your torque is gonna peak clear down around 4000 at around 775.....Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

scott, some of that doesn,t match ? some are too big some are to small and the cam looks late,,,do some more research ,, please.. i know you are going to drop some big coin, that just don,t look dependable,,,you don,t need 800 hp to run p-4,, back up some and get some more depedablity,, just my 2 cents,, good luck.

11-26-2009 01:31 PMWith a single engine ......NO
Also u really don't gain that much,,,tried it !!!!!!!
Its more like 20 HP not 20 % !!!
Also ,,,what did u mean by # high and some low ???
I have everything ecsept the pistons , I can change the cam .......but that will be shown on the dyno !!!
Or thru input of cam gurus here !!!Last edited by DAREDEVIL; 11-26-2009 at 03:49 PM.
