I too was a clone when he was fresh. I never practiced to take his place though.

I'm on an AC/DC 'Shot Down in Flames' kick right now...

Then again, looking at these posts, Bad Brains "Banned in DC" just popped into my head as well.

"Life's Been Good" - Joe Walsh
    "Smugglers' Blues" - Glenn Frey
"Careless Whisper" - Wham.........don't laugh, it was the song of the year in 1985 and still sounds great.

Hard to pick the best...too many.

I can't believe I haven't seen this thread before now.

I think Buoy said it best when he said this is a powerful question that is VERY tough to answer. I've read some darn good suggestions and have a few of my own that should and would qualify. I'm a music lover to the bone.

I have some suggestions of my own but think it's a moot point since most of them have probably already been mentioned. I will throw this out though. I truly feel that if a poll was given, everyone in the world voted, the winning song would not have been recorded after 1990. I truly believe that the 30 years prior to that were the years that the truly "good" stuff will go down in history.

You'll notice that I started the thread and I've already voted for about 30 different songs... I completely understand where everyone's coming from on the choice. I couldn't decide. It's subjective and situations. That's one of the reasons I was so amazed that Thompson could just throw down the gauntlet with "Mr. Tamborine Man"...

    This too.

    Also some Gordon Lightfoot.

I do this thing where I'll burn a CD, and it'll go straight from Iron Maiden Run to the Hills, to Brandy, to WALK by Pantera...
You never know whats going to hit you next.

My favorite song this week is "Faithless" off S&A by RUSH.
The cymbal splash at 2:20 into the song just puts it absolutely over the top.
And I was a guitar player.
Song just blew me away the first time I heard it, and that doesn't happen very often.

"Faithless" has been getting a lot of play in my car on the way to work the past couple of weeks. Very powerful song. Rumor has it they will be back in the studio this fall.

So you know exactly what I'm talking about on the cymbal thing at 2:20 in. The first time I caught it, it was just a "Damn Neil is incredible" moment.

Yes, it is a VERY powerful song, blew me away the first time I heard it.

We saw an AC/DC tribute band last weekend. You would have thought they were the original band. They were awesome!
