So, funny story today about ingenuity.
I wasn't even drunk, but I was at work, so that wasn't an option.
We have a shared office at work for the managers. It's really just a closet that has a few file cabinets, and the safe. The safe rarely has much more money in it than I have in my pocket, but, this is a corporate thing.
This office is shared by me and my counterpart manager. We recently lost our boss (damn shame), so now it's just the two of us.
My counterpart is out of town.
Some part-time gal went into the Mgrs. office, and managed to lock the door behind her when she left.
Well, we don't have a key.
After 15 mins of trying to pick the lock or jimmy the knob, I got another idea.
Drop ceiling.
Set up a 6' ladder, popped a ceiling panel, leaned over the 2' partition wall into the office, pulled another ceiling panel.
I now have the entire office open, but no safe way to get in (suspended ceiling, ~12' drop, over the 2' wall, nothing to stand on to get over).
I went into McGyver mode and looked at what I had available.
I went into the shop, and grabbed an old orange 50' extension cord.
Hung it in a U shape until I could grab the door knob, and then twisted it with the cord, and pushed the door open with my foot.
I wish I had pictures.
