11-12-2008 06:29 PMEndnagered Species is still in St. Clair Shores, MI. Paul Smith redid the entire boat about three years ago. Unfortunately Paul is no longer with us and the boat is for sale thru his estate. Dick Smith and Joe Steck ran the boat a few weeks ago and it still runs like a champ. Still one of the coolest cats around.

05-28-2009 11:01 AMI LOVE THAT BOAT! If I had more money I would have bought it. I've been all over the lake in it and the ocean and it's truly remarkable how it runs in big water. When Paul re geared the drives the speed it turns at 4k is incredible. If you ever have a empty seat for a ride call me...I'll treat for gas!!

That Endangered Species is one hell of a boat! Man, to think of what they paid for that boat... Deal of the century!

I just picked up this one. Photos from now and back in the day. I've got some ideas to bring back some of it's original look. Probably start messing with it this fall...

I'm really torn on what to do with the paint. Before I saw the boat in person, I had every intention of going back to the old school Pantera slash/fade stripes down the side, but once I saw the blue (with a metalflake in it) stripe, I've grown really fond of it.
Either way, I'm going to do the large '80s Pantera script on the side, block number place (thinking black) and race numbers, just to give it the right look. I'm also planning on removing the swim step (sorry Chris and Tom, I know it was a bunch of effort to get it on there), but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Don't forget this shot...
If you're ever going to race it, the swim platform has definately got to go. Who needs the extra weight? We should have took it off and left it in my garage, that way when you're ready to sell it, it would be on the side of the country with the most 28s and you could save on freight.
