looking for some more info on my new toy. i have the original survey they did it has david knight and ralph johsons name on it. also a copy of the title with jamie coates. who was the b-7 banker boat guy. i am thinking this was there earliest one. it is a time capsule in near perfect condition.
new to me pretty excites about putting it back together. being told it was only run a handful of times. bottom is blueprinted and was rigged by lilly and had griffin power and #3.
going to take my time and do it right. plus i am building on a budget. hopefully some of you guys know the history.

My first thought would be to ask member Mobilemercman here. (And that was before I saw the TX title.)
Cool boat.

If I remember my history right, Beckley's first ride was as navigator with Jamie Coates in the banker boat.

Btw... how complete is it? Do you need to do power/drivetrains?
Edit: Just saw your other thread. Doing power/budget.
How about N/A stroker 540s? Lots of bang/hp for the buck, period authentic, and you could move to blowers later. Assuming tank has returns.Last edited by fund razor; 08-07-2021 at 03:45 PM.

Mobilemercman is a mechanic, a former competitor, and owns a 10 meter. I'll bet he is a treasure trove of info.
Hopefully he is feeling better soon.
Again, sweet boat. Thanks for looking out for a piece of offshore history!

08-07-2021 11:38 PMWow, nice!
You must be living right. Last night, well 1:30 AM this morning, I picked Jim, (Mobilemercman), up at the airport and he is staying up here till Monday evening, (with a shoulder brace). Tonight, he is staying at the races in Michigan City with Art and Britt Lilly, we were down there all day today. Tomorrow night he's staying here again.
I'll show the thread to him tomorrow and we can chat about it later.
I'll also see if Art and Britt remember the boat.
If Art rigged and set it up, chances are that both Art and Jim drove the boat.
We should combine the two threads into one.Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

08-10-2021 01:11 PMI chatted with Art, Britt, and Jim. Art thinks he did do that boat, but we were looking on my cell phone at your pics while in the pits Sunday. We will work on what we can figure out, and now the pics are large where they are easier to pick out details that may trigger memories.
Jim flew back last night, hopefully he will get a chance to start reviewing later this evening.Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

Yes sir, Nice find. I'm curious what the pad looks like. It made a great B boat, with 500 something HP it was pretty near unbreakable drive system. I generally think of it as taking about 800 while knowing that is enough to break them. Heartbeat with the B motors would rev at 5800 in the water and entered at 6200 and it would just eat fluctuating between 6200 and 5800 the entire race the day I was asked to fill in as driver.
I'd be staring at it too.
