Heres Mine
Hey clustergear was that boat as great of a deal as it appeared to be ? It looks awesome.
one day, when I no longer yearn for stupid speed, I will own a 33 pleasure. Always loved the lines and the look.
Here's a couple more
Here my ride , 700's with sportmaster drives.
Yes it was a good deal. Spoke to owner on phone. Then made a phone call. Landed up that a friend of mine knew the perious owner and the owner of shop who maintaned boat. Got the hole history before I even went out to see it. The wife couldn't go with me to see boat so took her to where XPRESS33 keeps his boat and she snook a peek under the cover of his Powerplay and liked the looks, so she said go get it. Well packed up the truck extra hubs, spare tires, Money and dealer plate. Got to the owner house the boat was in excellent shape just like he said. Went throught the whole boat only found a few minor problems. Made a deal on amount, then water tested it. Boat ran great. Paid the man hooked my truck and left. Also I got it for a little less than he was asking. The boat is all apart now I am going through eveything. so far added water pressure gauges, changed cables on K-Plain indicators. added mufflers, Changed a lot of wiring. I have remove the numbers heres picture when I water tested it than hooked to my truck and back that night.
Now if I just sell the Avanti 27 the two boats just take up to much room in the garage
No running shot of Powerplay, have wait till next summer.
Is it summer yet!!!!!!:sifone:
I was looking at the pictures of your Powerplay at the towns docks, looks like the poker run a couple of years ago. So I checked my pictures. Here's a shot from behind.

Your boat looks great!
Small world, Billy used your trailor specs to build mine.
Bought my boat from a women named Sharon in Pompano. Didn't like the paint but the boat was like new. Once I seen the new paint I knew I had to have it. Had Billy build the trailor here and went down and picked it up in FL. Fit perfect and tows great.
Pics before & after & trailor
Nice trailer, Billy is going to make me a new winch post, it will look like yours. If you look at picture above I have low post and the winch pulls the boat down insted of forward when the boat gets near the winch post. I have to use 2 ratchet straps one pulling forward and one rearward. No big deal easy fix. Are you an old time LG guy like back when Nuptunes was the little bar !! I have been rising hell on the lake 32 years.Well I don't rise much any more.
Billy built my winch post too this past spring. Amazingly the trailor my boat came on didn't have a winch...boat was launched with straps everytime, so the trailer had never even been in the water. The post came out great and it was WAAAAY cheaper than I thought it would be.
Clustergear, Yes I've been on the Lake most of my life. Do you remember the Jolly Rodger? I used to rent one of the cabins next to Shepards Cove ( Peabodys) LOL back in the 80's & early 90's. You know that crew!!! I'm sure we have met I remeber seeing your Avanti many times.
Gladhe8er, Our you missing a pair of percription glass's? I found a pair in the cabin of the boat and I remember you were checking it out on Labor Day weekend. I have asked everyone I can think of so far.
How about some 38 pics???
You must have been in the Turtle Club, I was member of the Tuna Fleet ( the drunken old timers) Two of my friends rented half of the house that became Peabody's, than moved over to Pete & Marges Neptunes. The three guys I rented a place with we lived next to Antlers. I had a 1980 22' Baja Carrea before the Avanti, the boats I had before than no one would have looked twice at. One of the guys Gene had a 27 Avanti Burgundy and gray (both had dry exhaust) and the other guy Johnny is still on the lake Tuna Stinger.
Yes I'm a proud member of the Turtle Club. Lived in Neptunes through out the 80's, and Duffy's, Zachery's, DJ's, Lake Theater, Christies and others. I remember someone kept an Avanti at Leonelli's docks back then. Red 23' or 24'. Thought it was a beer distributor or something. (Keis maybe)
I'm sure you know Safari and Dan R. Here we are at the Sagandoga PR
Dan R was the one that told me were your boat was when I took the wife to see it. He didn't know your phone # or I would have called you, so went to see John about looking at it. I always could tell the Turtle Club guys late at night by your code of arms. TWO STRAWS WITH WARPER EXTENDED OVER THE EARS LIKE ANTENNAS!!!!!!:sifone::sifone:
Looks like Bob and Dan in your boat.
Percription glass !!!!!!!!! What ever happen to finding pantys in the cabin after the weekend and not knowing who's they were
Wow, now your making me fell old!:ack2:
Memories are all we have now:(lol
1991 33 Powerplay I/O Any body know if there are deck plates under flooring to access fuel tank vents. It doesn't look or feel like there under flooring. I pulled the fuel fill hoses out last night to replace ( what a pain in the ass that was) and what to change vent lines. If there are no deck plates does any one know were the vents are located in tanks (ie front right or left or center) so I drill just one hole to find them. I have been going over the hole boat replacing anything that looks questionable. Rather fix it during winter than have it go and screw up a weekend in the summer.
Go on OSO and ask your questions. See if you can get Ed to chime in or PM him, he knows everything about Powerplays. He built them with Dan W.
If you need a particular part he can tell you the company that made it, the part # and were you can buy it. He is the Powerplay God.
The vents on my tanks are at the front of the tanks. I had to pull the center floor to replace mine. Mine is a 95 with the taller deck, but probably the same tank.
My has the rubber flooring. When you pull up the flooring is there a removable section or did you have to cut the fiberglass
Would that be ImaPoser, Nice 25's. There's a nice 25 about a mile down the road from me with 250 OBs. I'll have to get a picture the next time I see it in his driveway.
No, he's not a member. His brother ITLLFLI is on here, he's got a crazy 22 Donzi.
Thanks for the compliments. We put a lot of work into both of them. He bought his bare and mine had a HP500 with a 177 on it and some pink and blue hull sides. HP500 now has a bigger blower, cam, & worked heads. They both run pretty well.
Here is one of CFD5's. It's a HARD runnin 25!!:sifone:
Just added water pressure gauges, before & after pic
The floor has a center panel in the floor. You have too pull the seats to remove it which makes it a pain, but the panel is caulked and screwed in place so it is removable without cutting the floor!
Thanks now I know I can get to the vent hoses easily.
