Great!. BTW isn't that swim platform a bit small?
Cool.
Very cool. Congrats.
Congrats!
Look forward to seeing more pics.
What's for power?
Looking forward to seeing the progress
:)
Phragle, on you Sig line it reads S.B.Y.C. ,and does that stand for Saginaw Bay Yacht Club ?
Congrats Rob. I was waiting to hear if the deal went through. SHould be a good all-around performance ride. A fun racer too with a 300 on it.
What's the bilge currently configured for?
Sale Bote Yatch Club;)
Screaming beaver yacht club. It had a 454. got it home, opened the hatch and found 454 exhaust manifolds and risers, distibutor, power sttering pump, oil cooler, lines/hoses, offshore motor mounts, starter, bell housing, coupler, couple stainless props, shiftbracket, a trim ram, large bucket of nuts and bolts, gaffrig flame arrester etc.... I think I have enough parts aling with the bravo and transom assbly, that when I do the ob conversion, the parts should cover the cost of the hull. With the current repower for the summer, I think I have found a complete merc 350 drop-in for $800. trying to do the repower as cheap as possible and use my money for the rerig &ob conversion. new sit down seats, gauges bezzels, controls, popup cleats, glass dave paint job, fresh interior etc.
Get started dang it !:biggrinjester:
Can't wait to see it getting put together
Complete with exhaust and everything needed to replace a big-block?
I saw that on eBay. (I think) Looks perfect for the new Class 7. That class has me thinking too...
Good Luck!
I thought it was Short Bus YC :)
Congratz Bubba Good Luck!!!
I would think you could find a 454/330 or 420 for a couple hundred more to run one season.
Would probably be cheaper and less work than going sbc for a summer if you plan to convert to ob.
Id love to go that route..been looking but havent found anything.
When 2TR's working on it, just sneak one of Gary's into the boat. They won't miss it until race season anyway.....
Right now Im in the work hard so I can play hard phase. normally i work 3 twelve hour shifts a week, currently picking up shifts and for last week, this week and next week atleast, working 6-12's a week. So with doubling my income for a few weeks, I think I will be able to make my bouncing baby boat happy...... and make the time go by quicker untill its warm enough out to work on it. i am one to believe in the work ethic. If you want to play hard you have to work hard. The year I built my last race quad, I was an EMT making $9.00 an hour yet I made $39,000 that year. overtime... given a 2000 hour work year at $9.00 an hour base salary would be $18000... all equates to 1333 hours of overtime, one nice race bike and 1 world endurance record on said race bike....
Congrats. Sounds like you have a good plan. Work hard make some extra money. You can't make good deals happen. You must be ready for when one does come along. Hold out for a big block if that is what was in there.
Good luck.
In the meantime, if you have any spare time, take all of those big-block parts and get them ready for when you find a great deal on a 454-502....
Hey Rob,
I have some extra bbc stuff if you get a chance to dress out a bbc donor motor. Flywheel, coupler, balancers, oil pan, sea water pump, etc.
Because I was building two brand new bbcs, any mis-matched stuff came out. Can't remember everything.
If at any point you want to look through the leftovers, you are more than welcome to take what you may want.
I'm sure I have some stuff too, let us know.....
Almost forgot....cool new toy. Should be a lot of fun for class 7!
You are not gonna be happy with a small block in that boat, I have one with a 489 inch Atlantic Motorsports Racing engine in it. Check your hull, probably a bit of a hook in it. The outboard will set the CG back, the boat seems to like that; another reason to stay with the heavy and more powerful big block for now - in my opinion.
Anyway, have fun; they are tough boats if built well, most were.
looks like its getting a small block just for the summer. Think I have a deal swung on a complete dropin cheap. just have to figure out gow to mount the bravo seapump on it.
Congrats
Hopefully that will not cost more then the engine
Why am I now picturing a battleship gray tri-cat...?
Buy a f-n bbc and run it for a yr.
I don't even like the egg beater idea, but I'll let it slide.
You should be able to find for another $500.
For one season it's a throw away.
That would be a pretty low price up here at this time of year.
Do you have everything you need except a long block? Or do you need everything?
