Oh I do! (The "P" stands for "penis" right?!) :sifone:

I know I'm older than Tim, Scotty, Chris and SDR John, so I know I'm not skiing!
I'm just hoping I get to ride in the front seat of my own boat! :D
The "Kielbasa" race team!
Cuz you know with six dudes in 28 foot six-pack config boat, it's gonna be called the sausage-fest racing team. We may as well strike first and put the joke out there before we get labeled.
The good thing is, I think we're all plenty confident in ourselves to take the joke instead of being offended.
Sort of like Oscar Kovaleski's old race team...
But then came a telegram that changed everything. "This constitutes formal entry by the Polish Racing Drivers of America in the next official Cannonball Baker Sea-to-Shining-Sea Memorial Trophy Dash. The drivers are Oscar Kovaleski, Brad Niemcek and Tony Adamowicz. If we can find California, we'll beat you fair and square."
Kovaleski, Skibinski (would require using 2 ski's), Meyer...
I always wanted to name a race team Paddy O'Furniture Racing.
Allthough Chris & I are probably the yougest Tom you would probably be better on the ski.. Since you are the official "fitness guru trainer" of the team..:biggrinjester: I can still ski like a champ but in my getting old age I have trouble with the distance thing !! Lol.. I remember as a kid begging to go another loop around our ski area & now if I get behind the boat its like Wow this is allot of work get me back to the dock & then 3 days of pain !!
No doubt we are friking idiots !!!!:biggrinjester: As the rest of the offshore community is saying "What is wrong with these guys ??"
:D:D
To get this slightly back on track... Pulled off the swimstep today and started pulled off the tabs and the tramsom ass'y. You guys got me all geeked up to work on it... Its freakin' 90 degrees out and sunny and I'm in the bilge of a race boat instead of out cruising my boat that actually runs... :sifone:
:sifone:
Sounds like a story I know..
Whats the plan ?? Lay it out brotha !!! :bigear:
I think I will go down to the shop latter tomorrow evening & see if I can rid the rest of my fingerprints with some paper so we can fund the race team !!
Looks like the Merlin lives to fight another day, so single NA bigblock power for now. Getting rid of the swim step. I'm gonna blast and powder coat the tabs Tlooking for some 360 tabs thoough) and transom assy. Then start doing the rigging stuff to get it race ready. If I can find an IMCO extension box priced right I'll probably give that a try too.
are you using the same carb and intake. I'm asking b/c I have a dart intake w/ hp1000 carb set up if interested. the intake was cnc ported by "race heads" out of Fla. I would let it go cheap
Proof Sean's Saturday dirtywork ala his infamous camera phone...
Carb and intake seem good to go. Might be looking for a cam though. John's old drag race buddy's unpacking his trailer 5 years after a nasty accident and told me to hold on buying anything though.
Thanks for putting up the pic Chris. Looks racey huh?
looks blurry, and I've only got one beer in me!:sifone:
have a few more beers, it'll become crystal clear.
I have 2 cams and a set of pistons as well. one of the cams is a 4/7 swap.
I would be happy to ship them to you if you wanted to have them checked out. there collecting dust over hear.
I just woke up from a nap, so, a little groggy, but the transom kinda looks like an elephant-head.
The lack of exhaust looks like eyes, the drive assy looks like a trunk, and the tabs look like tusks.
No, I haven't been smoking anything, or taking anything.
Just waking up still.
OK so here's some pictures to give us our starting point and show a little progress from the weekend...
Keep in mind that this boat was towed 3000 miles without a cover when you look at the bilge. It started cleaning up with very minimal effort.
Couple more... Haven't tried to tackle the 5200 yet.
And Chris, I wouldn't normally show the "dirty" pics, but it makes it look like I got more accomplished! :D
Basically I cleaned the floor by standing on those west marine oil eater towels while I was unbolting stuff... Hahaha.
now were talkin:sifone:
Looks like Valley Head Service is going to save the complete rotating assy and block. That's really good news since two weeks ago, it looked like I was making a really cool coffee table! So I think I'm just going to need a cam and some valvetrain stuff. Man, what a load off my mind... :sifone:
And if any of you guys were into drag racing in the '70s, that is THE Valley Head Service. Kinda geeked about having those guys mess with the motor from a historical standpoint. Kittycat John's funny, he used to work there and is totally nonplussed by the whole thing. :D
I was also looking at switching to the 360 wingplates, but my buddy just suggested these...

Then I could put my 280 tabs and pumps on the 24...
