Peter Hidalgo & Paul Clauser, wonder what are they are doing these days?
Thats right...Paul pasted away just last year, I forgot. Last I heard, which was maybe 7 + years ago, the prince of darkness was out of jail. Anyone know what Pete is up to? thanks
google this and you'll find some good info on Pete...... I don't think he is "OUT"..... appellant peter hidalgo
I think your right Ryan. I think he lost his court appeal. A lot to read.
He' lost several if you look back through all of that stuff. When I was a Kid in Key West, Pete was always super nice to me and a good guy. Livin The American Dream.....
Was Pete's first cat a Skater 32' with one of the first canopy's around 1985? I remember everyone saying it looked like a RC toy boat. But when we raced against him in Modified class in 1986, 87 he was in his canopyed Shadow cat. Also was Pete's Shadow cat the old El Boss now with a canopy ? Than at the 1991 worlds Pete shows up in Key West with our old Motor City Magic Image cat with beaks added, needed to run in open class, now called Ray Ban, American Dream. Sadly his driver was killed in that race running in our old Image cat. I heard the old Image cat was in a boat yard down in the Key's rotting away.
He did have one of the first 32' Skater which he crashed. It later became Nightmare, which crashed again in Key West. The American Dream Shadow was El Boss then United Racing Engines then when he crashed the Skater Pete got it in 87. The American Dream later became Spirit of Puerto Rico. Pete and Peachy Perez brought the Ray Ban American Dream to Key West and turned it over off shore. Peachy was stuck in the boat and drowned. This was in about 1993 or 94 I believe
Does anyone what boatyard in the Keys the Image Cat is at ?
That's it Ryan, there was a 80's race on the USA network that brifely shows Pete's radical Skater. Bob Moore of Race Rock fame used it [Nightmare] for a canopy over the door way of his first Race Rock here in the Detroit area. When Bob closed the Detroit Race Rock he sold it. I don't know were it went after that, but some say that it was repaired.
A few more cool cat's from back in the day. :cheers2:
