Looking for a Black Thunder I can make my own. Subsequently, warn interior, faded paint, engines need to be rebuilt all good things. No water issues though. You know "barn finds". Step bottom only. Thanks in advance....hopefully. Andy

I know of a 97 but it's not a step bottom. Cheapest step out there right now is 80000 I think.
Yeah 80k is out of my range. Especially when you factor paint, interior and rebuilds. I'm sure that one is clean and the trailer is great but a little pricey still. If I wasn't looking for a fixer upper I would be all over the 2006 in Florida for 99k. Has better engines too.
Are you positive it has to be stepped? If the 97 is still available, it is one heck of a deal!!!
Gone.
It was one heck of a deal I thought. I tried to talk Hellbent into buying it.
The "fishing" Black Thunder is for sale up here. It is an oddity, but reasonable for someone who wants to work on one. Let me dig to see if I can find the latest price.
Naw, not a step either...

Yeah, steps would help make up for the bottom paint and yanmar diesels. :D
Turbinator just got diesels fundi. Nothing wrong with leaving your sticks on the dash for hours on end and not worrying about when the motor will pop. The BTs forbsale now have all been listed for at LEAST a year and there's a reason 14-17 year old boats aren't moving for 80+k and prob why the owners that have the nice ones are holding onto them and not listing. Heck, the 01 American flag 43 tall deck was last listed for 100k with low hour trip 575sci before it finally sold.
Look at the 42 fountains and 42 sonics. Prices are dropping like a rock. BT are just taking longer. Funding the fuel bill has to be some of the reasons. Doesn't look like that's going to get any better soon.
Paul, you find any BTs hiding? I'm supposed to sea trial the Cig Sunday and then you know what at means..... Lol. 5 time BT owner soon!!!
What is the difference between Flat Deck, XT and SC? The only one I've seen is a SC.
The flat deck, GT I believe, is exactly that. No raised deck so the headroom in the cabin is about 5'10" instead of 6' 10". Coolermans is a flatdeck.
The EC stands for extended cockpit. The cockpit is longer because they were only available with twins, no triple engines, so the engine room is shorter. Most have the second row of bolsters in the cockpit.
The SC, Sport Cruiser, is the original raised deck design and most common.
Coolermans is one bad ass boat. Looks like 2000 or newer. Might have to look this sax up soon. I'd be open to a flat deck for the right price.
