Attending a memorial run is always a cause for mixed emotions. On one hand, a time for remembrance of a friend, competitor, or acquaintance. On the other hand, a time to honor a special person by doing something they loved doing, and would enjoy participating in themselves.

2011, when we lost Joey, seems like so long ago. But, in many ways. it just seems like a very short time ago. Way back then, the negative aspects of the accident seemed like a huge slap in the face. This past weekend, seeing his family, friends, and fellow performance boating enthusiasts gave a bit of clarity on how much Joey, and his passion for the sport we all love so much, was respected.
Other than some fog, it was a great day. Even with the fog, it was an incredible honoring of Joey. Here is a link to the story, and video, from way back then. A Tribute to Joey Gratton
