Iceman, a superhero that appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics, is an original member of the X-Men. A mutant, Iceman has the ability of cryokinesis where he can freeze anything around him and can also turn his body into ice. Now, getting turned into ice doesn't seem to be all that uncommon up here in Michigan, but I'm sure it would come in handy down in Florida in August.....
Artemis, the great Olympian goddess of hunting, wilderness and wild animals, has both a good side and a bad side. She is a goddess of childbirth, and the protectress of the girl child up until the age of marriage. Her twin brother Apollo was similarly the protector of the boy child. Together the two gods were also bringers of sudden death and disease--Artemis targeted women and girls, and Apollo targeted men and boys. Makes you wonder why all of these ladies are staying on the boat if her reputation is to bring something like that??? They certainly look old enough to have reached the age of marriage?
Maybe because of the honor they give her with the boat's name, she has struck a special protection treaty for them all? Or maybe Apollo just told her hands off ??????
The question is, with an unlikely combination of legendary beings like these should one expect all frozen entrees created from hunting wild animals and then have them insto-thawed as required? Sure would seem like the ability to insto-freeze some favorite dishes, freshly dispatched by the goddess of the hunt, would come in handy in the restaurant business. We can say from first hand experience the food is fresh and well prepared. But, who decides what to serve and how to prepare it, the goddess or the X-Man? We're not sure, but the offerings are interesting and delicious. Here are some menu selections of personal interest:

The location is a historic gem: It is next to the Ironton Crossings car ferry, which way back was a horse and buggy ferry powered by people or horses. The current vessel, officially known as The Vessel Charlevoix, was built in 1927, but was preceded by an 18 by 24 foot scow that hauled horses and wagons across the South Arm to and from the iron works in the then-booming Ironton. The scow, built at the end of the 19th century, was dragged along by a single, half-inch cable with the ferryman pulling it along by hand, as well as passengers. If you come by car, you can have a good meal, then load up and have your vehicle ferried across the south arm of Lake Charlevoix to go on a road trip where there will be no need to worry about traffic jams. The ferry runs between April and November. Captain Sam Alexander of the ferry is listed in Ripley's Believe it or Not for travelling 15,000 miles while never being more than 1/4 mile from his home over a period of years.
So stop on by when you have the opportunity. You never know who just may show up......
