Looks like Powerquest is officially finished :( I thought they made a great boat. Too bad they tried a comeback right before the economy went south.

Within the last year, they were trying to restart the company, but couldn't make it with the chitty economy.

That is sad:( I have said all through this that only the smaller full custom builders will be left at the end of all this. Just plain sucks.

I got that part but when was the last year of boat production? Nada lists 2006 as the last year of production. If that is true then they have not produced a boat in 4-5 years. If they couldn't make it when money was free (low interest), gas was reasonable and everyone was making a killing in the stock market/real estate then they would never have a chance in today's market.

My buddy had two Powerquests (29 then 38) and raved about them.

A sign of the times, but also a very flooded market. The stage was being set back in the mid to late 80's. Everybody and their uncle were building boats and banks couldn't lend the money for them fast enough. It's not like boats are cycled as fast as cars and there's two in every drive way. The demand dropped, throw in a down economy and builders are gonna fall. Look how many went down with the mini recession in the early 90's

Hey guys , i have to say that if the market ever recovers in the boating industry on a manufacturers stand point it might very well be only 30 % and that is comeing from someone in the industry who produces high performance boats and i might like to mention that S2 YACHTS is utilizeing there capabilites from building boats to windmill blades because orders are down , and i would also like to mention that Phill Hall / owner of ( POWER QUEST) who took a chance on something that he thought would take off and due to the economics of the nation .....never thought he would be choke'd to death because of it . Hey guys i have to say that there were alot of good things in the future coming are way from the P.Q. FACTORY not to mention shredding some serious pounds off every boat and the list goes on .

Tired of hearing about boat builders biting it. I had real high hopes for the combo of Phil and the Powerquest molds.
