The Fountain was American flag painted and was named American Pie. Its fuel tank ruptured and burned. Its a total loss. Fortunately, no lives were lost in the crash.

From the "other site", it was reported to be a 35'. And yes, if he was pulling it with a 1/2 ton truck, he might be in a world of hurt with his insurance company.

I-75 in Dayton is the single biggest clusterphuck of a highway project I have ever seen. Both NB and SB are completely torn up from the northside to the southside. There is a wreck everytime I go through there.

Have to agree!
I-75 through Dayton is a really chitty piece of highway, I know they are working on it, but I think scheduled completion wasn't until 2012 or something.
I was driving that every month or two up to Toledo from Cinci up until just a few months ago.
I always cringed when getting close to Dayton, because inevitably, I'd be sitting in traffic for at least an hour. No matter what time, what day of the week.

Depends on the trailer. Myco builds a really beafy tandem axle trailer that I have seen under our 33AT as well as a 358 Sonic. Personally, I would never do it, but it can be done and within capacity.

I had a 38 Formula on a tandem Myco and it towed great. I never had any issues.

I guess I'd rather have more then enough trailer for the job, rather then just barely enough.
Just my .02 worth from my back ground.

My Myco is also tandem for my 320 Force, I do use a bigger truck though...

I always hate to see these things happen...

This ought to put some of the rumors to rest.. from OSO...

I am the owner of the boat and truck. Wife and I are fine. Thx for the well wishes. For the record the truck is a 2500HD Duramax and the boat is a 99 Fountain 35. A three car accident happend right in front of us and we could not avoid. I swerved sharply to avoid but caught the tail end of the last car. One of the cars caught fire and the boat was touching the burning vehicle. It was just a matter of time before the cover caught. To my knowledge the fuel tanks on the boat were never ruptured. Hope the insurance works out but the wife and kids will sure miss that boat.....

Glad to hear everyone is safe. Once again, everyone rushes in to say how wrong the owner was and in reality, the 2500 hd has plenty of tow capacity for a 35 foot Fountain that weighs in less than 8K pounds. The 2500HD is rated to almost 12k. Accidents suck but they do happen so once again, glad everyone is OK.
